Now that is more true than ever as she aims to complete all 800 miles of the Great Smoky Mountain's trails at age 75.

Cumberland School of Law Educational Symposium Amplifies Trafficking Survivor’s Story
In March, Samford University Cumberland School of Law hosted its second annual educational symposium aimed at leveraging faculty expertise in various legal areas. The school’s Continuing Legal Education (CLE) department, the Center for Children, Law and Ethics and Samford’s International Justice Mission hosted a four-hour CLE seminar focused on the critical issue of child trafficking and featured Carissa Phelps, attorney and nationally recognized anti-human trafficking advocate.

Samford University Announces Next Provost
After an extensive nationwide search, Samford University has announced David Cimbora as its next provost and vice president for academic affairs. Cimbora is currently the executive dean of George Fox University’s Wellness Enterprise. He will begin his tenure at Samford effective July 1.

Now Burns leads the center as its director and she’s more fueled than ever to expand upon its success.

Following a nationwide search, Adam Winn, PhD, a distinguished scholar of the New Testament, has been selected as the new chair of Samford University's Howard College of Arts and Sciences Department of Biblical and Religious Studies. Winn's tenure, effective August 2024, follows the leadership of Roy Ciampa, who admirably served as the department's chair for six years.
